Day tripper

Posted: Tuesday, August 09, 2005

Working a 40-hour week is traditionally eight hours a day, five days a week. But today's workers are often able to work a flexible schedule, breaking the 40 hours of work into four 10-hour days or three 10-hour days and two four-hour days. If you'd like to work a flexible schedule, don't ask your boss until you do your homework. Point out ways in which the schedule would benefit others in the office. Write up a plan and present it to your supervisor, along with a breakdown of how your daily schedule would look.
