Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Drunken driving:

• Police arrested Owen Ernest Missou Joseph, 30, on a charge of drunken driving at 12:28 a.m. Tuesday on Thane Road. They lodged him at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and impounded the vehicle he was driving.


• A bottle of prescription pain relievers was reported stolen at 2:43 p.m. Monday from a home in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek. The home reportedly was unlocked.

• A bicycle was reported stolen at 5:34 p.m. Monday at the Mendenhall Glacier.

• A wristwatch was reported stolen at 12:27 a.m. Tuesday on Thane Road on the edge of the downtown area.


• At 2:44 p.m. Monday, vandalism was reported to a razor-wire fence in the 9300 block of La Perouse Avenue near the airport.

Vehicle accident:

• A 1981 Chevrolet driven by a woman, 43, reportedly struck a 1994 Toyota driven by a man, 36, in an accident reported at 12:06 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Gastineau Avenue. Damage was estimated at $2,500 to the Toyota and $2,000 to the Chevrolet.

Animal encounters:

• An officer responded at 11:19 p.m. Monday to a report of a bear getting into litter in the 4000 block of Granite Drive in the Mendenhall Valley. No bear or scattered litter was located.

Calls related to alcohol: 2.

Crime LineP>

Three windows in the Mendenhall River Elementary School were reported broken on June 13. Damage was estimated at $750.

Police believe the windows were broken out the previous night in a case of criminal mischief.
