Eagle to be released
The Juneau Raptor Center will release a juvenile bald eagle at 7 p.m. Aug. 11, 2005, at Amalga Harbor. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Lynn swim barbecue
Celebrate Steve Vick's completion of the Lynn Swim from Skagway to Juneau with a barbecue from 6 to 8 p.m., today at Auke Rec.

Registration for Girl Scout Day Camp has been extended through Friday, Aug. 12.
The day camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 16 to 19 at the Eaglecrest Ski Area.
Camp activities include arts and crafts, songs and skits, games, hiking and several guest speakers. All girls attending the day camp are required to bring lunch.
There will also be a the potluck dinner and an over-night stay that will be held Aug. 19. Families are invited to come up to the Eaglecrest Ski Lodge anytime after 3 p.m. for the potluck, which begins at 6 p.m. Any girls entering the first through fourth grades in the fall must have a female chaperone in order to spend the night. Those girls participating in the overnight stay must be picked up by 10 a.m. Saturday.
