Organization description: AEYC-SEA works to increase the quality of early learning for young children through support of parents as first teachers and enrichment of early childhood programs.

AEYC-SEA is a membership organization that encourages excellence through leadership, advocacy and education for the needs and rights of all young children in our communities.

Volunteer positions available: If you have basic typing/keyboarding skills and would like to help organize and maintain a library, we would love to have your help. Hours are flexible, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, in the office. This is a great volunteer experience for any age. AEYC will provide training, snacks and your choice of music.

Caring adults need all the support and information they can find to engage in the learning and development of children. The AEYC-SEA library connects parents, teachers and caregivers in Southeast with the resources they need. We have more than 1,000 book titles and 100 video titles to check out, in addition to other learning materials to enhance quality of care.

• Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a weekly feature on the Neighbors page and is in collaboration with the United Way of Southeast Alaska. More volunteer opportunities can be found online at the Volunteer Center of Southeast Alaska,
