Juneau resident Mary Angie Long died Aug. 5, 2008, in Seattle after a brief illness with vascular disease. She was 88.
Born Oct. 19, 1919, in North Carolina, she was raised in Oklahoma and began her married life in California. She moved with her husband, Maurice, to Juneau in 1949 to "try it for a year." Fifty-nine years later, she was still proud to call Juneau home, her family said.
A viewing will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Alaskan Memorial Park and Mortuary. A full obituary with memorial service details to follow.
