Man confesses in hit-and-run accident

ANCHORAGE - Wasilla police said a man has confessed to a hit-and-run accident that severely injured a construction zone worker last week.

Wasilla Deputy Police Chief Greg Wood said an anonymous tip led to the suspect. Wood said the man has confessed, but he has not yet been charged.

Charges will be forwarded to the district attorney's office, and the investigation continues.

Police said 25-year old Lacey McDaniel was working as a flagger when a car hit her and drove away early Wednesday.

She suffered several broken bones, a dislocated knee and internal injuries.
