Juneau police, fire officials, hospital officials and state troopers reported:

Thefts, lost/found items:

Shortly after midnight, a man, 24, was placed under citizen's arrest at Marlintini's lounge for theft of services. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Minor consuming:

About 8:30 p.m. Thursday, police cited a man, 20, near the intersection of Main and Front Streets for minor consuming of alcohol.

Vehicle accidents:

Shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday, a woman, 19, came to the Juneau Police Station to report that she had been in an accident earlier near the intersection of Marine Way and South Franklin Street and was now suffering neck pain. The woman was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital by ambulance for evaluation of her injuries. After an hour and a half's emergency room evaluation, the woman was treated for whiplash and discharged home in good condition. Investigation continues.

Fraud, forgery:

About 11 a.m. Thursday, a woman, 25, reported from the Mendenhall Valley Post Office that a check written to her had been cashed by another person.

Animal encounters:

Shortly before 5 a.m. today, police received a report of a possibly injured bear going through garbage in a trailer park on Mendenhall Loop Road. Police were unable to locate the bear.


A volunteer firefighter responded about 7:30 p.m. Thursday to a report of burning at Mile 5 of the North Douglas Highway. The brush fire was a controlled burn that had smoked out the neighbors until they cried, ``enough!'' The volunteer extinguished the burn about 8 p.m.


Shortly after midnight, police cited a woman, 22, on Channel Drive for driving with a canceled license. She was released at the scene. Her vehicle was impounded.
