Palin kin help Idaho hopeful for Congress

BOISE, Idaho - Former Gov. Sarah Palin's father and father-in-law will campaign in Idaho for Republican congressional candidate Vaughn Ward.

Ward was a campaign assistant for GOP presidential hopeful John McCain, whose running mate in 2008 was Palin.

That's where Ward met Chuck Heath, Palin's father and a former Idaho resident, and Jim Palin, her father-in-law.

Campaign events are slated for Boise, Sandpoint, Wallace and Coeur d'Alene, from Aug. 27 to Aug. 29.

Ward spokesman Ryan O'Barto says, "They're going to be talking about how Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi are taking our country in the wrong direction."

Ward is running in the 2010 GOP primary against Ken Roberts, the state House Majority Caucus chairman, and Allan Salzberg, who describes himself on his Web site as a rocket scientist. U.S. Rep. Walt Minnick, an Idaho Democrat, now holds the House seat.
