Police have arrested a man suspected of robbing two teen-agers early Sunday morning on a path near Stephen Richards Memorial Drive.
Police said Thomas Jay Evan, 27, is charged with two counts of second-degree robbery, a felony, and fourth-degree theft, a misdemeanor.
Police are still looking for an unidentified man who was with Evan at the time of the robbery.
Capt. Tom Porter of the Juneau Police said that at about 2:15 a.m. Sunday the boys, age 15 and 16, were walking on a path near the Duck Creek Market when Evan and his companion told the teens to give him their money.
Evan had no weapon but the teens gave an undisclosed amount of money to him, police said. The men then left the scene and the teens managed to hail a cab near Haloff Street and report the incident, police said.
Police said they responded and found Evan leaving the Duck Creek Market. After the teens identified Evan, police said, he was arrested and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held without bail.
