Who is kidding who?

How can the School Board justify cutting class time by 2.25 hours, and on a Friday? Give us all a break. Not many people can really believe that the teachers can get together on a Friday afternoon and be productive. Plus it disrupts every family with children in those two schools. (Glacier Valley and Mendenhall River)

Here is a thought ... why not congregate on Wednesdays at 6:30 a.m.? Make it a mandatory attendance. Every teacher must attend and be on time. That gives you 1.5 hours. If you need more time, make it for two days a week, or twice every other week. You would only disturb a few households (those of the teachers) and you can do your planning with a fresh mind. Those of us who work know that no one is really going to want to be there on Friday afternoon. And for the safety of the children, don't send these kids home to be alone.
