WASILLA - Authorities are investigating separate incidents of accidental shootings in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough.

The Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman reported three people were injured in the two incidents Wednesday.

Alaska State Troopers said 23-year-old Joseph Bartz of Talkeetna was intoxicated and accidentally shot himself in the leg.

The other incident happened at the Mat-Su Job Center in Wasilla.

Wasilla police said 22-year-old Jeremy Simile was sitting in a van in front of the job center handling a gun when it went off. He was injured in the hand.

Police said a 19-year-old woman standing outside the van was struck in the arms and neck. Both she and Simile were treated and released from the hospital.

Authorities are still investigating each incident.
