The Senior Division (Age 15-16) Little League softball team from San Marino, Calif. - which beat Juneau's Gastineau Channel Little League All-Stars to advance to the Senior Softball World Series - failed to advance out of pool play at the tournament this week in Jeffersontown, Ky.

San Marino defeated Juneau 1-0 on Aug. 6 in the championship game of the Western Region tournament in Butte, Mont.

At the World Series, the California squad went 2-2 in round-robin play. They lost to host Jeffersontown and to Pilot Mountain, N.C., and beat the Latin American representatives from Puerto Rico and the Canadian representatives from Windsor, Ont.

Jeffersontown faced Wyoming, Mich., in one championship-round game Thursday, while Pilot Mountain played El Campo, Texas, in the other. The winners will face off in the World Series championship game on Saturday.
