Seifert, Schwarz to wed

Shannon Seifert and Terry Schwarz, both of Juneau, will tie the knot at 4 p.m. on Aug. 23, 2008, at Point Louisa Beach. A potluck reception will follow at the Juneau Yacht Club. Friends and family are welcome to attend.

The bride is the daughter of Kathy Seifert, of La Crescenta, Calif. She received a bachelor's degree in environmental science from the University of Alaska Southeast and is completing a degree in environmental engineering from Cornell University, in Ithaca, N.Y. She owns a Web design business.

The groom is the son of Pamela and Tony Schwarz, of Altadena, Calif. He also received a bachelor's degree in environmental science from UAS and is completing a degree in environmental engineering from Cornell University. He is a hydrologist for the Alaska Department of Natural Resources. Cathy Connor, a longtime friend, who introduced the couple, will officiate at the ceremony.

The couple will honeymoon in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California and make their home in Juneau.
