SEWARD - A Soldotna man was killed and his daughter injured in a single vehicle crash just outside Seward.

Alaska State Troopers said 36-year-old Michael Szajbler died when he lost control of his pickup Wednesday evening and it rolled. He was pronounced dead at the scene

His daughter, 5-year-old Maykalya Szajbler of Portland, Ore., was pinned halfway under the vehicle.

She was removed from the wreckage by rescue personnel, and flown to an Anchorage hospital with what troopers called minor injuries.

Troopers said speeding may have been a factor in the accident. Alcohol containers were also present in the vehicle. Neither person was wearing a seat belt.
