Juneau Early Learning Fair

Posted: Sunday, August 15, 2010

The Juneau Early Learning Fair will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 17 at Glacier Valley Elementary School. This event is especially for children ages 2-6 and their families. Children from any elementary school district can register at the event, including special option programs, preschool, kindergarten and Head Start.

Over 20 organizations are collaborating with the school district to offer free health screenings, free carseat safety checks, healthy family activities and free immunizations (with shot records). Parents can find out about great community resources for families, and at the same time children will enjoy activities such as puppets, an obstacle course, story circle, homemade playdough, bubble prints, and glow in the dark hand washing.

Each child will receive a free book, make a healthy snack and receive a prize for exploring different activities. All children that bring their shot records will be entered for special door-prizes, including tram passes, swim passes and restaurant passes. For more information, please call 789-1235.
