Cindy Nicole "CeCe" Blackwell of Durham, N.C., and Carlos Austin Boozer Jr. of Juneau and Raleigh, N.C., were married in a ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 10, at Cleggs Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Timberlake, N.C.
The bride is the daughter of (stepfather) Curtis and (mother) Jacquenetta Miles and (father) Howard Blackwell of Bahama, N.C. She is a graduate of Riverside High School of Durham, N.C., and graduated in June 2002 with a psychology degree from James Madison University of Harrisonburg, Va. She is seeking employment in Cleveland, Ohio, as an elementary school teacher.
The groom is the son of former Juneau residents Carlos Sr. and Renée Boozer, who now live in Raleigh, N.C. He is a 1999 graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School and is scheduled to graduate in May 2003 with a sociology degree from Duke University of Durham, N.C. He is a power forward with the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA team.
The bride's attendants included maid of honor Natasha Renée Boozer (groom's eldest sister) and junior maid of honor Lindsay J. Smith. The bridesmaids were Toya Britt, Ikeyia Burton and Princess Wright. The flower girl was Essyence Smith.
The groom's attendants included best man Charles Augustus Boozer, the groom's younger brother. The groomsmen were Chris Duhon and Dahntay Jones and Jay Williams who also served as ushers. The ring bearer was Xavier Atwater-Smith.
The couple will honeymoon at a later date and will make their home in Cleveland, Ohio.
