Caroline Beatrice Gruening, of Juneau, and Jack Douglas Vines III, of Spokane, Wash., were married on June 23 at The Woodmark on Lake Washington in Kirkland, Wash. A reception followed at the same location.

The bride is the daughter of Anne And Winthrop Gruening. A graduate of the Santa Clara University, she is a fourth-year student at Georgetown Medical School.
The groom is the son of Shirley and Jack Vines. A graduate of the University of Washington, he is a project manager for a technology company in Washington, D.C.
The maids of honor were Piper Platte and Erin Richards. The bridesmaids were Tracy Kelton, Rachael Kirchhoff Posey, Abby Blair Carnathan and Elizabeth Vines, the groom's sister.
The best man was Ryan Church. Roy Wilson, Matthew Huey, Ryan Wynne, Travis Fulton, the groom's cousin, and Rob Gruening, the bride's brother, were the groomsmen.
The couple will honeymoon in South America in November and make their home in Washington, D.C.
