Kate Menlove, of Redmond, Wash., and Rick Carte, of Juneau, were married on July 15 at the D.A.R. House in Seattle. They had a small service and exchanged vows in front of their closest friends and family. A Juneau picnic reception will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Aug. 19 at a Sandy Beach shelter in Douglas. Friends of the bride and the groom's family are invited to attend.

The bride is the daughter of Jay and Judy Menlove. She is a graduate of Western Washington University in Bellingham and is a state local government account manager for Microsoft.
The groom is the son of Ed and Chris Carte. He is a graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School and Western Washington University. He is a claims adjuster for Progressive Auto Insurance.
The maid of honor was Kate Schmidt. Kristen Carte, the groom's sister-in-law; Jill Menlove, the bride's sister; Jana Menlove, the bride's sister-in-law; Natalie Woods; Dana Mills; Elan Holmberg and Kim Finucan were the bridesmaids. Juliana Tinker was the flower girl.
The best man was Zach Gaber. The groom's brothers, Rob and Russ Carte; the bride's brother, John Menlove; Lincoln Stalnaker; Brent Ayres; Brad Hendricksen and Ryan VanDiest were the groomsmen. The ring bearer was Nolan Carte, the groom's nephew.
The couple honeymooned in Zihuatanejo, Mexico.
