Reports from police, fire officials and state troopers:

Sound off on the important issues at

Animal complaints:

• At about 10 p.m. on Tuesday, a caller reported a bear in the trash in the 2800 block of Mendenhall Loop Road.

• At about 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday, a bear was reported in the area of the 2900 block of Riverside Drive.

Assault:

• At about 9 p.m. on Tuesday, a 42-year-old male was arrested for domestic violence assault in the 8800 block of Nancy Street and lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

• At about 10 a.m. on Wednesday, a 42-year-old male was arrested for domestic violence assault in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway. He was lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Burglary:

• At about 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday, a burglary was reported in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway.

Hit-and-run:

• At about 9:10 a.m. on Wednesday, an unknown vehicle was reported striking a 1999 Ford Taurus in the 3300 block of Nowell Avenue.

Traffic accident:

• At about 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, a 1996 Ford Explorer was reported striking a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am in the 9200 block of Glacier Highway, causing about $6,000 in total damage. No injuries were reported.

• At about 1:40 p.m. on Tuesday, a 2005 Dodge driven by a 53-year-old male struck a 1997 Saturn driven by a 39-year-old male on Trout Street, causing about $4,800 in total damage.
