Bullet wound unnoticed until man booked into jail

ANCHORAGE - Anchorage police arrested and booked a 21-year-old man into jail for robbery without noticing he had a bullet wound in his back.

The Anchorage Daily News reported that the man did not mention he was hurt and police did not see the injury.

Marcus Young was charged with second-degree robbery, but the wound was apparently unrelated to that charge.

He and Lindsey Crumpton, 22, are accused of taking cash from a woman's wallet. Police said they and another man went to the woman's home and took money off her dresser.

While police were investigating that robbery, other officers were responding to a shooting. Young and Crumpton were at that scene.

Jail staff noticed Young had been shot when they processed him Thursday.
