"We're currently actively seeking nominations for different ideas on a new school name," said Deborah Morse, the district's coordinator of facilities planning.

Superintendent Peggy Cowan said finding a name for the school is the next big activity to get the community excited about the new facility.

"We want to invite the community to participate in that," she said.

The school's future students already decided the mascot will be a Falcon and the school colors will be silver and blue.

Morse said the forms to submit a name have been placed around each of the public schools in the community and are available at the district office.

Forms also will be at each school's open house and can be accessed on the district's Web site.

"We do have guidelines within the board policy, but anyone interested in submitting a name can contact us out at the facilities office," Morse said.

All submissions must be returned by the Sept. 15 deadline for consideration.

Morse said the School Board will make the final decision on a name.

"A committee of people will be put together that are going to go through the names and will select two names that they will move forward to the School Board," she said.
