ANCHORAGE - An Eagle River trail has been closed because of anticipated bear activity.

Spawning salmon near the Eagle River Nature Center are expected to draw bears around the Albert Loop Trail.

Officials with the state Department of Natural Resources said bears often use bridges and beaver dams as platforms to fish from.

For the same reason, the trail closes each year.

It will remain off-limits until the bears begin their hibernation.
