KETCHIKAN - The Coast Guard is searching for three people, including a 12-year-old child, overdue from a halibut fishing trip near Ketchikan.

The Coast Guard said 50-year-old Klyn Kloxin and 46-year-old Tracy Harrel of Ketchikan were with the child from Idaho on board a 16-foot skiff Saturday.

They had left at 8 a.m. for Bold Island and Twin Islands about 15 miles southeast of Ketchikan. They were due back at dark.

Family members reported them overdue at 9:30 p.m.

Poor visibility hampered a helicopter search Saturday night. A rescue boat searched through the night. The boat, helicopter crews and two good Samaritan boats resumed searching Sunday.

Weather was cloudy with rain, winds at 10 mph, air temperature of 59 and water temperature of 56.
