ANCHORAGE - A 22-year-old Chignik Lake man died after a fight and a second man is in custody.
Alaska State Troopers spokesman Tim DeSpain said John Kalmakoff died of injuries suffered in a fight with Edwin Peterson II.
Troopers took a call on the homicide at 5 a.m. Friday.
DeSpain said an initial investigation indicated Kalmakoff died of blunt force trauma. An autopsy was ordered.
Two Anchorage troopers and a crime lab technician flew to Chignik Lake, a village of about 100 people 500 miles southwest of Anchorage.
Peterson had turned himself in to a local officer. He was taken to Dillingham, charged with second-degree murder and held on $250,000 bail.
