Remember when fog was a major factor in determining when and how teams would or could travel to or from Juneau?
The week Fairbanks is covered with smoke. What about football?
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Lathrop High School, Alaska Airlines, Cyndi's Cruise and Travel, and finally the parents and players of all divisions of the Junior Youth Football League.
Wednesday morning when it looked like the Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears would not be able to play Lathrop in Fairbanks on Saturday, all concerned began planning, adjusting, and rescheduling.
Thank you Lathrop High School for working with us.
Thank you Alaska Airlines for your understanding of our travel dilemna
Thank you to Cyndi's Cruise and Travel for working your magic to get tickets re-booked.
Finally, to the parents and players of the JYFL, thank you for understanding that lower division games will have to be rescheduled to accomodate the Bears.
Everybody worked together and it is now going to happen.
Lathrop High School is coming to Juneau to play this Saturday, Aug. 20 at noon for a junior varsity game and at 3 p.m. for the varsity game.
If you are a season ticket holder you just got an additional game for your money. Seasons tickets will still be on sale at Saturday's game. Buy a season ticket and get five games for the price of four.
Again, thank you to all for helping us clear the smoke in Juneau.
