Palin is misleading on capital move

Letter to the editor

In my opinion, Sarah Palin is not an honest person. In her advertisement in the Juneau Empire on Aug. 15, "Strait Talk About the Capital Move," she claimed that she was falsely accused by the supporters of her opponents for the office of the governor of Alaska and that she had never proposed to move the capital of Alaska out of Juneau. I am one of those who brought up this issue in the opinion section of the Juneau Empire and the Ketchikan Daily News.

Sound off on the important issues at

It is a well-documented fact that Sara Palin made numerous public statements proposing to move the Legislature from Juneau to other more populated regions of Alaska. It is clear to me and to many others in Southeast Alaska that moving the Legislature from Juneau to other regions of Alaska is the same as moving the capital.

An honest person, as she claims she is, would stand for his or her beliefs and would not manipulate a democratic process for his or her political interests.
