ANCHORAGE - Anchorage police are investigating how an underage girl was furnished with alcohol before she was killed crossing a busy highway.
Sixteen-year-old Jenilee Francis was intoxicated when she was struck by a truck at about 12:13 a.m. Saturday on the Glenn Highway at Bragaw Street.
Also killed was a 12-year-old girl, whose name has not been released.
Police say they don't yet know if the younger girl was drinking.
The girls were with 18-year-old Maryann Kanrilak and 23-year-old Leona Asicksik of Anchorage, who also were intoxicated.
The dead 16-year-old is from the western Alaska village of Chevak.
The Anchorage Daily News reports Jenilee Francis had recently moved to Anchorage to go to high school.
