Juneau resident James Russell Peters, 85, died Aug. 12, 2005, in Juneau.
He was born Dec. 17, 1919, in Walla Walla, Wash., and moved in 1964 to Juneau. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Aleutian Islands and Adak as a C-47 pilot during World War II. He worked as a pilot and a commercial fisherman.
He is survived by his daughters, JoAnne Carpenter and Denise Hoover; his sons, Jim Peters, Barry Koury and Bryon Koury, stepson, Bruce Martinson; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A private family ceremony will be held in Juneau.
