JUNEAU - Eight people turned in paperwork to the city clerk's office by a 4:30 p.m. deadline Monday to run for Juneau School Board and Assembly seats to be filled this fall.
Ed Flanagan, Richard Monkman and Sally Saddler will compete for two seats on the School Board. The seats are being vacated by Margo Waring and Sean O'Brien, who are not seeking re-election.
Incumbent Assembly member Bob Doll faces competition from Wade Bryson for the areawide seat. Sitting member Jonathan Anderson also faces competition from Karen Taug for the District 2 seat.
Merrill Sanford, who represents District 1, will run unopposed.
Juneau's municipal election will take place on Oct. 7.
