Landing craft capsizes on Prince of Wales

JUNEAU - The Coast Guard is investigating after a 52-foot landing craft with a fuel truck aboard capsized.

It happened early Monday morning in Saltery Cove, on the southern portion of Prince of Wales Island.

The Saltery Provider was holding about 3,500 gallons of diesel while the truck had about another 2,500 gallons of diesel.

Oil response crews were en route Monday afternoon, and sorbent boom had been deployed.

The Coast Guard did not immediately know how much fuel had spilled.
