NOATAK - A 13-year-old boy is recovering from an accidental gunshot wound near Noatak.

Alaska State Troopers say the boy while on a fishing trip Saturday on the Noatak River was unloading a .357 Magnum revolver.

The revolver fired, striking the boy in the right thigh.

Witnesses and Noatak's village public safety officer assisted the boy. He was flown to Anchorage with what troopers called non-life-threatening injuries.
