Police and Fire

Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Driving while intoxicated:

• Richard Banon, 43, was arrested at 6:24 p.m. Monday near Egan Drive and Mendenhall Loop Road for drunken driving and refusal to submit to a breath test. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.


• A brown wallet was reported stolen at 10:03 a.m. Monday near South Franklin Street. The wallet was stolen from a vehicle.

• A money order was reported stolen at 12:51 a.m. today from an undisclosed location. The money order was in a vehicle that was believed to be locked at the time.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

• A broken bus window was reported at 6:05 p.m. Monday near Douglas Highway and Lawson Creek Road. Damage is estimated at $150.

Vehicle accidents:

• No one was injured during a single-vehicle accident at 5:13 p.m. Monday near Montana Creek Road. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,500.

Animal encounters:

• Bears were reported Monday at 12:59 p.m. near Douglas Highway, 1:11 p.m. near Douglas Highway, 1:36 p.m. near Glacier Highway, 1:39 p.m. near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek, 8:51 p.m. near Douglas Highway, 8:58 p.m. near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek, 9:54 p.m. near South Franklin Street, 10:26 p.m. near Delta Drive, 11:07 p.m. near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek and 11:23 p.m. near Decker Way.

• Bears were reported today at 1:17 a.m. near Decker Way, 6:48 a.m. near South Franklin Street, and 6:59 a.m. near South Franklin Street.
