Sad transition

I w

ill never understand why people think they have to destroy other people's property, especially in Juneau. I was born and raised here and Juneau used to be a pretty safe community. People didn't have to lock car doors, doors to homes, your neighbors and friends watched out for each other and respected what they had. I would walk home from a baby-sitting job down Willoughby when I was 16 years old at 2 a.m. and never feel afraid. What kind of joy is given to destroy what other people have and probably saved to get? Judging by the articles written in the Juneau Empire these last few days, Juneau has gone from a safe and beautiful community to just another town with crime. This is very, very sad.
