Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


• A box containing several pairs of tights and socks, valued at $100, was reported stolen from an unlocked Subaru at 1:23 p.m. Wednesday near Fifth Street in Douglas.

• A blue three-speed bicycle was reported stolen at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday near Long Run Drive in the Mendenhall Valley.

• Tools, valued at more than $2,600, including a rotary-powered hammer, a powered weed cutter and a power saw, were reported stolen at 9:25 a.m. Thursday near Thane Road.

• A red motorized scooter, valued at $280, was reported stolen at 11:37 a.m. Thursday near Stephen Richards Memorial Drive in the Mendenhall Valley.


• Two broken windows and a dent were reported on a 1985 Volkswagen Golf at 5:47 p.m. Wednesday near Glacier Highway.

Vehicle accidents:

• At 12:34 p.m. Wednesday, an accident was reported at Marine Way downtown, involving a bus driven by a man, 39, and a 2002 Dodge Caravan driven by a man, 61. Damage was described as minimal to the bus and estimated at $1,000 to the Caravan. The Caravan's driver was cited on a charge of failing to yield when turning left.

• An accident reported at 3:13 p.m. Wednesday at Trio Street and Portage Boulevard in the Valley involved a 1992 Toyota, driven by a woman, 79, and 2003 Dodge Neon, driven by a woman, 18. Damage was estimated at $700 to the Toyota and $50 to the Dodge.

• Police cited a girl, 16, on a charge of failing to yield after a stop in an accident reported at 3:21 p.m. Wednesday near Jordan Avenue and Glacier Highway. The girl was operating a 1994 Ford Explorer that allegedly struck a 1994 Cadillac, driven by a man, 68. Damage was estimated at $3,000 to the Ford and $4,000 to the Cadillac.

Underage drinking:

• Police cited an Angoon boy, 16, on an underage drinking charge at 12:11 a.m. Thursday near Trout Street near the airport.

Animal encounters:

• A bear was reported walking near Riverside Drive at 9:04 p.m. Wednesday near Riverside Drive in the Valley.
