I find it rather curious that BP, not having gotten legislative approval of Gov. Murkowski's sweetheart oil tax deal, suddenly finds corrosion significant enough to shut down their entire Prudhoe Bay operation. Looks to me like they're sending us a message: "We own this state, and if we don't get what we want, we'll turn off the spigot and teach you a lesson."

If that's the case, let's act like real Alaskans, get our backs up, tell them to go to hell and find another way to fund our government. We might even end up with less government, which would be a bonus.
