ANCHORAGE - The planning committee that oversees major transportation projects for Anchorage has agreed to rescind its decision to postpone the Knik Arm bridge project until 2018.
In exchange, the mayors of Wasilla and Houston dropped their lawsuit against Anchorage Metropolitan Area Transportation Solutions.
The mayors of Houston and Wasilla sued the committee in June for failing to allow for adequate public comment.
The vote to delay the bridge came while Matt Claman was serving as acting mayor of Anchorage. Current Mayor Dan Sullivan supports the project.
