Janice April Bean

Janice April Bean was born April 14, 1966 in Mt. Edgecombe hospital and was promoted to glory August 15, 2010 in Anchorage.

She was of the Kaach Adi Tribe of the Kooshda Clan from the Koo Tis Hit. Her Tlingit name was Xaa'th Du. She belonged to the Salvation Army church. She lived in Juneau for 15 years.

Janice is survived by her mother Starina Johnson of Juneau, her dad Joseph Johnson Sr. of Anchorage, Son Tristan Raymond Jerel Bean of Juneau, sister Emily Johnson of Juneau, brother William Mather of Atlanta, brother Bud Mather of Washington, sister Gina Mather-Smalley of Sitka, other sisters Edna Skaflestad of Hoonah, Evanne Katasse-Roberts and Alice Shaquanie both of Juneau, with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews throughout Southeast Alaska too many to name but all loved by her and last but not least, Christine Culliton, her long time very good friend and care coordinator. Our family cannot thank you enough for your commitment and dedication to caring for Janice. Thank you Christine Inc. You're greatly appreciated.

Janice is preceded in death by grandparents Elsie Wilson, Bill Wilson Sr., Mary Wilson, Robert Hanson Sr. Maggie and Paul James of Angoon, Mable and Henrich Bean Sr. of Kake; Her biological father Frasier Mather, her father Henrich Bean Jr., Auntie Nina Dick, Uncles Henry Katasse Jr., Albert Hanson Sr., and Wilbur Skeek; Cousins Yvonne Hanson-Earl, Michael See, Robert Hanson Jr.; Niece Harlena Evanne Sandersa and Nephew Brian Sanders

The pallbearers will be Gordon Greenwald, Brian Roberts, Keith Skaflestad, Steve Warford, Ozzie Sheakley, and Carolyn Martin.

The honorary pallbearers will be: George Martin, Ernie Hillman Sr., Lily White, Susan King, Jackie Dick, Ernie Jack, Michael Bezezkoff Sr. and Mary Rudolph.

A memorial service will be held in Juneau at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Salvation Army Church.

A memorial service will be held in Hoonah 7 p.m. August 27 at the ANB Hall. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. August 28 at the ANB Hall.
