Driving while intoxicated:
Kenneth Natkong, 36, was arrested about midnight Sunday on Mendenhall Loop Road for drunken driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over 0.10. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Facility.
An 18-year old man was arrested about 9 a.m. Saturday for stealing mail. He was cited and released. The bulk of the mail was returned.
A 25-year old man was arrested for shoplifting about 10:30 a.m. Saturday at a South Franklin Street business. Alcohol was involved. He was lodged at the state prison.
A 36-year old woman reported about 5 p.m. Sunday that her wallet had been stolen.
A man, 26, reported the theft of his unlocked bicycle from a Mendenhall Valley area motel. The bike is valued at $150.
Vandalism and criminal mischief:
A woman, 47, reported about 10:30 a.m. Saturday that three tires were slashed on her vehicle while it was parked overnight in her driveway on Steep Place. There are no leads or suspects. The tires will cost $350 to replace.
A woman, 47, reported about 11 p.m. Friday that a tire had been slashed on her vehicle while it was parked for two hours at the Mendenhall Valley movie theater.
A man, 64, reported about 11a.m. Saturday that all four tires had been slashed on his vehicle while parked overnight in his driveway on El Camino Drive. There are no leads or suspects.
A man, 25, reported about 1 p.m. Saturday that his vehicle had been scratched from front to rear with a sharp object while parked overnight in his driveway on Foster Avenue.
A bear was reported about 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the 3000 area of Douglas Highway. The bear was attracted to unsecured trash. The caller was given the number for Alaska Department of Fish and Game and instructed that they are the primary agency responsible for bear problems.
A bear was reported about 2:30 p.m. Saturday eating unsecured garbage in the 3100 area of Douglas Highway.
A report was received about 7 a.m. Sunday of a bear on the front porch of a home on E Street in Douglas.
A bear was reported about 10:30 p.m. Sunday on Calhoun Avenue near the Governor's Mansion.
A bear was reported about 11:30 p.m. Sunday eating garbage in the Switzer Creek area.
A bear was reported about 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the area of North Street.
A bear was reported about 12:30 a.m. today trying unsuccessfully to get into the garbage behind a South Franklin Street establishment.
