The Legislature and governor are correct in granting all Alaskans a $1,200 oil rebate check.
The original intent of the Alaska Permanent Fund was to treat each Alaskan equally whether rich or poor. Is a rich or middle class Alaskan any less deserving to share Alaska's oil wealth? I think not.
If Ronald Reagan were alive today, he would be proud. He believed that citizens should have more of their own money to spend as they wish rather than the politicians. Most of the money put into people's hands will be spent in our great state. The city of Juneau and businesses take in more taxes and can hire more people. What is wrong with that?
