The Japan-based Peace Boat sits docked in Juneau on Wednesday, on one of its last stops on a three-month voyage that started in May. The ship made stops in the Norwegian Fjords and Greenland before arriving in Alaska to "explore the icy ecosystems threatened by global warming," according to the nonprofit's Web site. The passengers and crew also stopped in Iceland to study the country's alternative energy policies. The ship heads back to Japan this week.
