Patz is ROTC graduate

Kathryn E. Patz has graduated from the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps Advanced Camp at Fort Lewis, Wash.

Patz completed a 5-week course of intensive military leadership training and evaluation exercises in communications, management and survival training.

Patz is currently a student at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Upon graduation from college, Patz will be commissioned as a second lieutenant to serve in the U.S. Army, National Guard or reserve.

Patz is the daughter off Greg and Deanna Patz of Juneau.

Football league meets

The Juneau Youth Football League is holding a meeting for all parents of youth league players and cheerleaders at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Riverbend School. There will be a second meeting at the same time and place on Aug 30.

Locals graduate

Yuancie H. Lee of Juneau graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor of science degree in management.

Juneau resident Londi Tomaro graduated cum laude with honors from Lewis and Clark College. While at Lewis and Clark, Tomaro majored in biology.

Army Pfc. Leif E. Leegard has graduated from the electronic warfare intercept systems repairer course at Fort Huachuca, Ariz. Leegard is the son of Eric M. and Judy L. Leegard of Juneau and is a 1996 graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School.

Shot clinic offered

Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School is offering shot clinics for hepatitis A and B this week and next in order to make sure all DZ students are ready to attend school the first day. To receive shots. DZ students must com to the school accompanied by parents and immunization records. Free, today through Friday, 9:30-11:30 a.m and 1-4 p.m.

Small-pool closure

The small pool at the Augustus Brown Swimming Pool is closed until further notice because of mechanical difficulties. The big pool remains open and can still be used for lap and open swims. For further information, call the pool at 586-5325.
