The Juneau Convention and Visitors Bureau has hired Jamie Allenbaugh-Letterman as convention services manager.
Her responsibilities include coordinating catering, transportation, accommodations and registration services for groups meeting in Juneau.
Letterman brings nine years of experience with sales and service in publishing and wireless communications as the former marketing and promotions director for the Nugget Mall.
The JCVB is a private, nonprofit economic development organization dedicated to diversifying the local economy by promoting Juneau as a year-round visitor destination.
Arlene Crumrine recently joined The Longaberger Co. as an independent sales associate.
She will market and sell the line of Longaberger baskets, pottery, home accessories and wrought-iron products through home shows. The Longaberger Co., based in Newark, Ohio, has more than 70,000 independent sales associates.
Jan Wrentmore of Skagway was appointed to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board by Gov. Tony Knowles.
The five-member board controls the manufacture, barter, possession and sale of alcoholic beverages in the state. Wrentmore will serve a three-year term as one of two industry representatives on the board. Since 1980 she has owned and operated the Red Onion Saloon in Skagway.
Knowles cited Wrentmore's many community activities, including more than 20 years as a member of the Skagway Convention and Visitor's Bureau and participating in the local chamber of commerce, Skagway Port and Harbor Committee, Skagway Marine Access Committee and Skagway Community Recreation Center Planning Committee.
Wrentmore has lived in Southeast Alaska more than 30 years.
