JUNEAU - Children's author Carol Crane will sign her new release, "L is for Last Frontier: An Alaska Alphabet," between noon and 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at Hearthside Books downtown.
Since 1998, Michigan-based Sleeping Bear Press has published 21 state-themed alphabet books for children. Crane has written five of these, including "S is for Sunshine, a Florida Alphabet" and "L is for Lone Star, A Texas Alphabet," which also touch on the states' geography and history. "L is for Last Frontier" is illustrated by Michael Glenn Monroe.
Crane has 33 years' experience in children's literature as an educational consultant and has conducted in-service seminars for teachers at schools across the country.
"L is for Last Frontier" is $17.95 hardcover.
