Juneau Co-op Nursery School takes applications

The Juneau Co-op Nursery School is now taking applications for its fall program for children ages 20 months to 3 years old. The school runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon each weekday morning from early September to the end of May at the Northern Lights Church nursery room downstairs, 400 11th St.

The Juneau Co-op Nursery School is a parent-run nursery school separate from the Northern Lights Church. Although the co-op uses the church facilities, which includes a climbing room and playground, it is does not teach any religious program. For each day of the week, six children can enroll in regular slots and one child in a substitute slot. The substitute can attend when ever a child is absent. Children may register to attend more than once a week.

For a child to attend once a week, semester tuition from early September to mid-January is $40 for a regular slot or $20 for a substitute slot. Two parents work each date, so each parent works about once every three weeks. Each parent is also assigned a volunteer job and one seasonal clean-up session. Parents should not expect the nursery to be a dependable child-care. For a registration packet, contact Kari Robinson at 789-5222 or attend our fall meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the Northern Lights Church.
