Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:
A woman reported at 11:57 a.m. Wednesday in Ketchikan that the grandmother of a Juneau girl, 9, noticed bruises on the girl. The girl had been sent to live with her grandmother. Ketchikan state troopers and the Division of Family and Youth Services are investigating.
Vandalism and criminal mischief:
A man, 27, was arrested at 1:01 a.m. today near Willoughby Avenue and Egan Drive after he was seen spray painting a building.
Police cited a woman, 19, for careless driving at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday near Twin Lakes following a three-vehicle accident. A black Pontiac driven by the woman struck a green Dodge pickup driven by a man, 39. Her vehicle sustained $1,300 in damages; his vehicle sustained $700 damages. The Pontiac also struck a red Toyota driven by a woman, 29, whose vehicle sustained $300 damages. The Toyota and the Dodge were stopped in traffic at the time of the accident.
Police cited a woman, 19, for careless driving at 5:13 p.m. Wednesday near Salmon Creek following a two-vehicle accident. The woman, driving a Hyundai, struck a Toyota pickup driven by a woman, 42. The Hyundai had $5,000 damage, and the Toyota $2,000 damage.
A woman, 51, reported at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday that her Honda Accord was hit in the past two days.
Bears were reported Wednesday at 9:09 a.m. near Dogwood Lane, 11:20 a.m. near Lemon Creek Manor, 2:51 p.m. near lemon Creek Road, 5:02 p.m. near Pine Street, 5:43 p.m. near Lund Street, 6:34 p.m. near Sunset Street, 6:57 p.m. near Lund Street, 11:57 p.m. near Delta Drive, and today at 3:13 a.m. near Douglas Highway and Hill View to Channel Terrace, 4:23 a.m. near Threadneedle Street, and 6:15 a.m. near North Loop Way.
Troopers cited a man, 40, Wednesday in Juneau for failure to register as a sex offender. He was cited and released.
