I commute by bicycle between the Mendenhall Valley and downtown. The only route available to me goes through Lemon Creek.
Sound off on the important issues at
This season the Lemon Creek shoulders have been unpainted, potholed and covered with debris. On dry days, there are clouds of dust and gravel thrown into the air. On wet days, there is a thin layer of mud.
This is an unsafe situation for bicyclists and also for vehicles. Note that a bicyclist is not protected by a metal cocoon. I hope that at least the shoulder lanes will be painted. In the best of all possible worlds the broken pavement will be fixed and the shoulders swept often.
