Mystery writer signs books in Juneau

Mushing and murder are Sue Henry's specialties.

Anchorage mystery writer Sue Henry has written five novels in this unique Alaskan sub-genre. Henry will be in Juneau this weekend to give a workshop on writing and for two book signing events.

She will be signing copies of her latest novel, "Beneath the Ashes," at 7 p.m. Friday at the downtown library and from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Hearthside Books in Nugget Mall. She'll lead a writer's workshop, "How to create unforgettable characters and settings for fiction," from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Douglas Library. Interested writers can register for the workshop by calling 364-2378

Henry is the author of "Murder on the Iditarod Trail," "Murder on the Yukon Quest," "Termination Dust" and "Sleeping Lady." Her books feature her fictional heroine, musher Jessie Arnold, and her dog, Tank.
