... for Girl Scout day camp
Tongass Alaska Girl Scout Council just finished the "I Can Do It!" day camp program that served 77 girls, and many thanks are in order.
Thanks to the CBJ Youth Activities Grant, the citizens of CBJ made camp possible through sales tax revenues.
Volunteers with direct service as well as behind-the-scenes include: TAGSC Juneau Service Unit, Juanita and Steve Reese, Sondra Meredith, Cherry Eckland, Susan Krogstad, Jetta Whittaker, Kris Coffee, Sam Kito, Liz Landen, Margaret Bard, Andrea Sharp, Cassie Lutz, Joyce Nelson, Pat Adams, Rhonda Befort, Karen Peeples, Kioyko Streuber, Colleen Goldrich and Tina Roa.
Additional thanks to Tlingit Elders Agnes Bellinger and Ray Wilson, Micalyn Coronell, Karen Maher from the USFS, Officer Sarah Dallas from the JPD, BRH dietitian Nancy Duhaime, EMT Marilyn Devilbiss as well as Capital City Fire and Rescue and Lisa Gable from the Raptor Center for sharing their expertise with the Girl Scouts of Juneau.
We also thank ABG for providing transportation, Mike Collins from Archery Outfitters for providing archery equipment and TAGSC personnel Fran Compton and Teresa Newton for their hours of support.
Finally, a special thank you needs to go to Eaglecrest for the use of their fabulous facility and supportive staff member Courtney Webster. We could not have done it without your help.
Because of all the involvement, day camp ran smoothly and made enduring memories for Juneau Girl Scouts.
