Juneau resident Donald Shaw, 55, died Aug. 14, 2005, in Juneau.
He was born July 11, 1950, in Perry, Fla. He was an electrician by trade and worked in Florida, Virginia and Louisiana. In Juneau, his electrician work included the Tram Plaza, Frontier Suites and Tamrack Trail condos. He was also a commercial fisherman in Yakutat.
He friends and family say he was a kind-hearted man who made people laugh and greeted everybody with love and passion.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret.
He is survived by his life-partner of 20 years, Trish Austin; his daughter, Donna Binder; his son, Steven Shaw; his brothers, Louis and Shelby; his sister, Joann Watt; his father, Reet Shaw; his step-mother, Mirian; and his grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Aug. 26, 2005, at Alaska Native Brotherhood Hall. He will be buried on Aug. 27 in Florida beside his mother, Margaret.
