Juneau resident Alexandria "Xan" Woods died Aug. 22, 2002, at her home.
Xan was born July 8, 1962, in Shelton, Wash. Her family moved to Juneau a few weeks later. Xan and her family lived in various places throughout her childhood years, always returning to Juneau. She graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 1980. She attended college in Hawaii, Idaho and Alaska. She was employed at the state Department of Labor.
She is survived by her parents, Lucile and Ted Tidwell and Mike and Jeanette Woods, sisters Carla and Shannon and brothers Sheldon, Brent, David, Mike and Sean. Xan also is survived by her sister-in-law, Stephanie, and brother-in-law, Ross, niece Emily and nephews, Scott, Brenden and Sam.
Xan was full of life, always seeking new adventures, her family said. She particularly enjoyed snowboarding, biking, hiking, spending time at the beach and shopping. What meant most to her though was just spending time with her many friends and her family.
All family and friends are invited to attend any one or all of the following: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at mile 5 1/2 Glacier Highway.
Following will be a dedication at Alaskan Memorial Park on Riverside Drive, with a reception at the LDS Church at approximately 4 p.m.
